To enhance the sustainability of UK trout farming and improve fish welfare by facilitating disease prevention and treatment. This project will contribute to the understanding and treatment of Rainbow Trout Gastro Enteritis (RTGE) or summer enteritis, which causes significant mortalities, up to 30% of the fish in some cases. RTGE is the largest disease problem in the French and Spanish trout industries and is seen as the biggest threat to the UK industry.
